Summers at Birdland

I’ve always been a singer first, and this summer, I’ve been able to spend a lot more time at one of my favorite places: Birdland Jazz Club. I’ve made it clear to my friends that if they want to hang out, they know they can find me at Birdland. It’s been so much fun connecting with new artists every week and squeezing the ones I love so dearly. I’ve been challenging myself to sing songs that might not be guaranteed crowd pleasers but speak to me. It’s made a great conversation starter for sure. Who even sings Helen Reddy anymore? (Besides me, haha.) Thank you, as always, to Jim Caruso, Billy Stritch, Steve Doyle, Daniel Glass, as well as Tedd Firth, who has filled in a few times this summer.
